We bought this new raft & i wonder what your opinions are regarding cargo platforms. We've been advised from the start that it could extend floor life & can avoid future problems. What good really does it make to choose oar saddles over the conventional frame?

Thanks in advance for you advice!

I recommend using cargo platforms in both ends of your raft. But in particular, you better go for the Oar Saddles. First reason is to avoid impact damage on your floor. Another is to support your load.

The thought of oar saddles is a really good idea.. but yes, you really have to do something to have that mounted seat. To make an all paddle raft instead of oars will make it even lighter.. However, the lack of frame would also mean one less thing to suspend your gear from..
