We are headed to Colorado the first week in September and staying Breckenridge. Which outfitter has the best tours during September and what is the best river for this time of year?
The Colorado rafting season usually begins in May and ends in September.
Colorado rivers are powered by the snow melt from the surrounding
mountains, which means that conditions are best from mid-May to mid-June. By September, the water
levels will drop, which means smaller waves and technical problems for inexperienced paddlers.
