Popular Rafting Destinations - Green River Rafting
Written by: cj apelo
One of the most popular choices for Whitewater Rafting is the Green River in Utah.
Green River offers Rafting, Kayaking, and Canoeing, but what makes Green River Rafting a bit more unique than others is that it also offers views on important landscapes to America’s frontier and a glimpse of the area's history. In this case, rafters not only experience the thrills of the rapids but also the history of the place itself.
For those who are planning to try Green River Rafting, there are several types of trips that you can choose from, depending on your needs and preferences. The offered trips include daily, multi-daily, and family trips.
- Daily trips
Daily trips are the perfect choice for beginning rafters who only have a small amount of time to spend. The nine-mile stretch through the lower portion of Gray Canyon on the Green River takes from ½ - 1 day to raft.
If you want to go on your own, you can tackle the river solo. If you want someone to accompany you, there are guides who are willing to take groups down the river. The segment includes seven mild rapids, though there may be a few class III rapids in high water.
- Multi- day trips
Multi-day trips offer a different accommodation from the daily trips. It is advisable to have reservation before setting out on your trip.
- Family trips
Children as young as five years old are invited to participate. This type of trip is more feasible for families who have kids with them but are not sure how long their children would like to spend on a Raft.
The prime feature of the City of Green River is the Green River itself, and there is surely no better place to begin your Rafting expedition than in the City of Green River.
