The Woodland-based environmental group Tuleyome brought about 160 underserved teens of Yolo County for their annual rafting trip on the Cache Creek.
The program was co-sponsored by Collings West Sacramento Teen Center, Esparto After School RISE program, Woodland YMCA as well as Woodland Youth Services. The rafting activity was preceded by a safety and training talk.
Tuleyome is a nonprofit organization that works in the Putah and Cache Creek watersheds in order to protect both the wild and agricultural heritage of the country.
The organization began organizing rafting trips back in 2005 to bring the youth closer to nature. At present the organization has already began the preparation for next year’s event.
