A 63-year old rafter was trapped on a boulder in the center of the Sixes River early last week. The man was identified as Theodore Jablonski. According to reports, Curry County Sheriff’s Rescue team needed to use a rope and a ladder in order to reach the 50-foot embankment that separates them from the said rafter.
Sheriff Sgt. John Ward discloses that Jablonski was one of the rafters onboard a raft which capsized approximately 10 and a half miles up the river.
Ward added that the incident was reported by 51-year old Gino Bernero, the operator of the raft.
