Rafting Trips may be Limited at Shoshone Rapids
FRIDAY, 25 JANUARY 2008
The Forest Service in Glenwood Springs, Colorado had recently announced that they may have to put a restriction on the number of commercial rafting and kayaking trips that would be allowed in the Shoshone rapids of the Colorado River.
An environmental study on the said river recommends that only 73,350 guided rafting trips should be allowed each year.
The said study was conducted by the White River National Forest’s Eagle/Holy Cross Ranger District. According to the group, the proposed number was based on the capacity of the Shoshone and Grizzly boat ramps in the canyon.
